Air Handlers
Air Handlers move the conditioned air through your home.
The air handler unit is the indoor component of your heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system that circulates conditioned air through your home.
If you have a forced air furnace, the air handler is the part that blows the warm air out. It also circulates cooled air from the air conditioner unit that's located outside your home. If you do not have a furnace, you may have a stand-alone air handler that blows cool air from you’re air conditioner or hot air from your heat pump through your home’s ductwork.
The air handler includes a blower, heating and/or cooling elements, air filter racks or chambers, and dampers. Air handlers usually connect to ductwork that distributes the conditioned air through the building and returns it to the air handler.
Air Handler Care:
Changing your air filters regularly is the key to proper maintenance for your air handler. Whether it's part of your furnace or a stand-alone unit, you should also have your entire HVAC system inspected and maintained by a professional each year to catch small problems before they become big.
